holiday weekend greetings, friends. it’s been quite a week and an emotional one for many of us but i think for now, i’ll leave my ranting and raving to my instagram stories where you don’t have to watch if you don’t choose to and keep this a safe space for you to unwind and find a little joy, perhaps a little inspiration without having to hear my opinions first. not that i’m not sharing them, because i am, but we’ll leave them on social media for now. i’ll be off for the 4th of july holiday, spending it with family and friends but back next week. i hope you’ll be doing the same and find some time for a little rest from the constant barrage of news. lots of love and good wishes.

xo, victoria

  1. this is a tranquil garden vignette that we can easily recreate in our own homes for a summer lift. add some pretty planted pots, or i even like the idea of an herb garden, and display some of your favorite dishware or ceramics. it just makes for a really pretty indoor garden space.
  2. living on a houseboat doesn’t always evoke the image of a modern vibe, but this incredible houseboat on london’s thames river breaks that mold. i’d love to live on this plant-filled, modern houseboat designed by LAB Architects and featured on the spaces. check out the full tour for some wonderful mid-century modern inspiration.
  3. lisbon continues to be one of my favorite vacation destinations and baixa house is my preferred place to stay. i love their simple, elegant but really inviting interiors. they tend to use an inspiring mix of modern and vintage to create a really cozy home-away-from-home holiday stay, so you feel most welcome – like staying with a good friend.
  4. if you’re a fan of English artist and designer luke edward hall like i am, you’ll be most pleased to hear the news that he’s designed and created a chic new collection called Chateau Orlando, a new brand featuring some divine homewares and clothing with his signature whimsy and color.
  5. i’m a big fan of brooklyn-based artist christina zimpel, and i love this charming display of her artwork over her fireplace mantel. her paintings center around the characters and observances of her daily life, but her childhood in Australia remains a particularly vivid point of reference for her colorful and sometimes very whimsical works of art.
  6. i really love the colorful art collection in this charming paris townhouse, located near the Canal Saint-Martin. featured on the always inspiring socialite family, this home tour is full of great design ideas and definitely worth a visit.
  7. it was such a lovely surprise to see an old vintage portrait of mine on @monogramdecor’s instagram feed. i sold courtney this painting when i was moving from san francisco and scaling back my portrait collection and i love seeing it look so beautiful now living in his home. her history continues.
  8. if you didn’t see on instagram, i’m headed back for a trip to my beloved paris in late july! ouí! and somewhere i usually visit at least a couple of times while i’m there is merci paris. i love both their café and the sheer joy of shopping there — i always pick up a few pieces from their linen collection — like these pretty tablecloths.
