my gosh, it’s mighty chilly here in los angles today, and i’m hankering for summer to officially arrive and warm up around here already! so this week’s picture this is all about those summer vibes: surfboards and swimsuits, beach scenes and skaters. it’s interesting because while some of this artwork is from days long gone by — like the 1930’s diving painting above by Onchi Kôshirô, others are more contemporary like photo prints by artist max wanger and paintings by lisa golightly, and yet they all seemingly flow quite nicely together and have a sense of nostalgia no matter when they were created. i guess we’ve been swimming and enjoying time by the seaside for as long as one can remember.
